My thesis project is an examination of our social media habits and the way that smart technology influences and changes us. It has the capacity to bring out strong emotions like anger and frustration towards people on the other side of a screen while also disrupting our ability to stay present. Feeling, seeing, and sensing false narratives through social media in particular can create tendencies to numb our senses of the outside world. Throughout research and exploration, this project aims to create a bridge between the physical and the digital.
This specially-designed deck of cards contains messages and prompts that encourage deep thinking about our primary senses, our relationships, the act of staying present, and how our actions (both on and off screens) can have an impact on other people.
